Lord Howe Island

Just Paradise – Lord Howe Island

Discovered in 1788 by Lieutenant Ball, commander of the First Fleet ship, Supply, while en route from Sydney Cove to Norfolk Island. Three couples from New Zealand came to settle in 1834. The island acted as a provisioning station for ships travelling between Sydney and Norfolk Island, and until the 1870s also for whaling ships.

The first tourists arrived at the turn of the 20th century by ship. An airstrip was opened in 1974.

With just 400 tourists allowed on the island at any one time, Lord Howe offers exclusive tours and experiences that ensure you enjoy the total paradise the islanders have created.
